Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank is one of the charities featured in the film
November 2, 2026
Four organisations making a difference across in the local area will be featured in a special evening of film screenings at Riverside Studios later this month.
Hosted by Hammersmith United Charities in partnership with Media Trust, the event will showcase a series of short films highlighting the work, stories and impact of community groups supported by the charity.
The films, produced by Constellation Films and Media Trust, focus on Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank, Lawyers4Learners, The RENA Initiative and White City Theatre Project, examining how each organisation supports local residents and contributes to community life.
The screening comes as Hammersmith United Charities announces that 15 organisations have been awarded grants totalling £106,798 through its latest summer funding round.
Among the featured groups is White City Theatre Project, which uses drama and performance to build confidence and social connections among young people.
Chief executive and founder Lucy Foxell said many participants are young people who do not necessarily thrive in traditional academic or sporting settings.
"They're often young people who fall under the radar, who might not get on academically, who might not be sporty, who might struggle making friends," she said. "They don't fit into many boxes, but actually, drama really works for them."
Another organisation featured in the films is Lawyers4Learners, which gives Year 6 pupils the opportunity to take part in mock trials led by volunteer legal professionals. The programme aims to develop public speaking skills while encouraging critical thinking, debating and negotiation.
The event will begin with refreshments and networking opportunities for people involved in Hammersmith's voluntary and community sector before the screenings get under way.
Following the films, audiences will hear directly from representatives of the four organisations as well as members of the filmmaking team. Speakers will discuss their work, the process of creating the films and the role that storytelling can play in highlighting community activity.
Hammersmith United Charities said the evening is intended to celebrate the breadth of work taking place across the borough, from tackling food poverty and supporting education to building community cohesion and creating opportunities for young people.
Stories From Our Community will be shown on Screen One on Tuesday 17 November from 6pm to 7.15pm
The event is free to attend, with organisers asking anyone with dietary or accessibility requirements to contact Hammersmith United Charities in advance.
The screening forms part of the charity's wider effort to support and showcase organisations working to improve the lives of residents across Hammersmith and Fulham.
